Anne M. Moraca-Sawicki, Surgical Coordinator, Administrative Assistant and Oncology Nurse, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing and health care administration.
Growing up, Mrs. Moraca-Sawicki was most inspired by her mother, who was an artist but had dreams of becoming a doctor. After her mother passed away when Mrs. Moraca-Sawicki was 18, Mrs. Moraca-Sawicki decided that nursing was the best route for her to take. In this line of work, she has been able to help, comfort, treat, educate and listen to patients. Since 1983, she has utilized her experiences as a surgical coordinator, administrative assistant and nurse at the office of Dr. Richard L. Sawicki. During this same time, she has worked as an ex-officio faculty at Niagara County Community College. She has garnered previous experience as a charge nurse with Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, as a clinical editor of Springhouse Corporation and as an assistant professor of nursing at D’Youville College. In her own academic pursuits, she earned a Bachelor of Science at D’Youville College in 1974 and a Master of Science in nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1977.
Mrs. Moraca-Sawicki is active in a number of organizations and has provided her dedicated services to numerous others throughout the years. She is a member of the Niagara Falls Community Development Board where she supports new businesses, writes grants and low interest loans to expand local businesses. She has served as a co-chair for the LaSalle Business and Professional Association since 2008 and has chaired the grant committee and the community development fundraising committee. Furthermore, she has been a committee member of The Premier Fundraiser with the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center since 2004, and has also been a member of the Program of All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly Board. In 2006, she founded the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine Festival of Lights Banquet and Auction. She has also been the president of the St. Peter’s Altar Rosary Guild since 2006. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with such accolades as the Woman of Distinction Award from both the Niagara Gazette Newspaper and the New York State Assembly among many other honors.
