Backed by nearly six decades of professional experience, Ms. Beck is a prominent psychologist and psychotherapist who most recently worked in a private practice in Indian Head Park, IL, from 2003 to 2014, having previously held offices in Chicago, Des Plaines and Oak Brook, IL, from 1972 to 2003. Alongside this appointment, she was a management consultant in organizational change from 1987 to 2006 and a director and instructor of counseling psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 1971 to 1977. Prior to these illustrious roles, she was a director and instructor of programs of counseling the disadvantaged in the Extension division of the University of Chicago from 1960 to 1971, having previously worked as a staff counselor in the Counseling and Psychotherapy Research Center at the University of Chicago from 1959 to 1966 and a teaching and research assistant at the University of Chicago from 1955 to 1960.

A lecturer and workshop leader at various mental health, educational and business institutions for more than 50 years, Ms. Beck holds an Associate of Applied Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, and a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Illinois and a certified group psychotherapist. She is also a distinguished fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association and a member of several other organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, and the Illinois Group Psychotherapy Association, where she served as president in 1977.

In recognition of her exceptional achievements, the Ariadne P. Beck Scholarship was named in her honor by the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1989. In addition, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the Illinois Group Psychotherapy Association in 1986.
