Backed by more than three decades of professional experience, Ms. Jones was a prominent medical technologist and educator who passed down her vast wealth of knowledge to coworkers and students alike. Most recently serving as a microbiologist at the Tennessee Department of Health Laboratory Services in Nashville, TN, from 1997 to 2007, she previously spent time as a medical technologist at Vanderbilt Medical Center from 1978 to 1997 and Metro General Hospital from 1974 to 1978. Alongside her primary endeavors, she was a technical consultant at Vanderbilt Point of Care Program from 1993 to 1996, a lecturer at the St. Thomas Program of Medical Technology from 1991 to 1994, a member of the advisory board of the Meharry Medical Technology Program at Tennessee State University, and an instructor of the teaching faculty at Public Health Laboratory Services. Civically, she has been serving as an information guide in the archive section of Fisk University since 2009.

Ms. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Master of Education in administration and supervision from Tennessee State University. She was previously certified in medical technology through Vanderbilt University from 1974 to 2016. The co-author of “Thrombosis and Coagulation Abnormalities Associated with Cancer” in the Annals of Clinical and Laboratory Science in 1994, she has maintained affiliation with the American Association of University Women, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Southern Association of Clinical Microbiology throughout her career.

In recognition of her exceptional contributions to the medical industry, Ms. Jones has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
