Charlene Cleveland, Retired Community Health Nurse and Case Manager, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fields of fitness and health and wellness.
As a caring person passionate about the health of those in her charge, Ms. Cleveland has dedicated herself to the betterment of others. Preparing for her illustrious career, she received her diploma from the School of Nursing at Sylacauga Hospital in 1967. She completed coursework at Gadsden State Community College from 1979 to 1982 and earned a Bachelor of Science from Jacksonville State University, graduating magna cum laude in 1995. Prior to her retirement, she has been a homebound nurse for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services in Anniston, a public health nurse for the Alabama Department of Public Health of Sylacauga and a parish nurse for the Baptist Nursing Fellowship of the Woman’s Missionary Union. Her other positions include staff nurse for Sylacauga Hospital and the Child Development Center of the Talladega Clay Randolph Child Care Corporation.
A testament to her devotion to others, Ms. Cleveland currently serves as the chapter secretary and the Alabama State Veterans Association Representative for the Daughters of the American Revolution, holding these essential positions since 2007. She has also offered her time and talents as the Alabama state president of the Baptist Nursing Fellowship for the Woman’s Missionary Union since 2015. Inspired by her lifelong desire to pursue nursing, Ms. Cleveland has found enormous joy and success in the field of health services. Recognized by others for the positive contributions she has made to the field of health services, she holds memberships with the Alabama State Nurses Association. She is also a member of the Alabama State Employees Association, as she has spent her career improving the lives of those in Alabama. Ms. Cleveland has been recognized for her invaluable contributions to the field of nursing, receiving the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. She has been recognized in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Nursing, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
