Jacqueline L. Cunningham, PhD, Psychologist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychology.
With more than 40 years of professional experience in her areas of expertise, Dr. Cunningham has recently retired in 2017 after working as a psychologist for 17 years at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Prior to this appointment, she was a psychologist in private practice for three years, preceded by a fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Children’s National Health System for two years. Briefly serving as a professor at the University of South Dakota for one year, she also held the role of fellow of developmental disabilities at Boston’s Children’s Hospital with Harvard Medical School for one year. Dr. Cunningham commenced her career as a psychology intern at the Devereux Foundation in 1988.
A consultant in the field, Dr. Cunningham got her start at the University of Maine, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, cum laude, in 1963, followed by a Master of Science in psychology from the University of South Alabama in 1983. After obtaining some hands-on experience in the field, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy in educational psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994.
In recognition of her exceptional achievements, Dr. Cunningham was awarded the Outstanding Dissertation of the Year Award by the American Psychological Association in 1994. A member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, she attributes her success to persistence, passion, and great mentors. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and writing.
