Kelly A. Tomo, PharmD, Pharmacist at Inova Health System, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Medicine.
Dr. Tomo has been a professional pharmacist at Inova Health since 2004, part of a large nonprofit healthcare system that serves the District of Columbia and the state of Virginia. It is a global leader in personalized health, with a network of hospitals, outpatient services, and institutions. Dr. Tomo has been working for 14 years in pharmaceuticals, and though she is in the middle of her career, she works each day to be remembered by her peers for her hard work and caring nature. If she could solve one problem in the world today, it would be to eradicate hunger and poverty.
Dr. Tomo attributes her success to her hard work and consistency, which allowed her to earn a PharmD from Ohio Northern University in 2003. She served her residency with the Inova Health System and entered pharmaceutical practice. Dr. Tomo is from Sharon, Pennsylvania, and has held her faith close to her for many years. She became involved in her profession through her desire to help others, and does so as a volunteer with World Vision Inc. and Campus Crusade for Christ International. Asked which person she would want to have lunch with, living or dead, Dr. Tomo picked Jesus Christ.
In her spare time, Dr. Tomo enjoys cross-stitching, reading, and watching sports. She also cares for her dog, Abby, and her cat, Tiger. She recently moved to Pennsylvania, but while in Virginia she worked at a level one trauma center, with three hospitals in one. Dr. Tomo cared for facilities specializing in women and children, in general medicine, and in cardiovascular medicine, which recently celebrated 30 years of surgical excellence. Dr. Tomo has been named an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achiever, as well as a Marquis Humanitarian Award recipient, and was named to Elite Women Worldwide.
