Hilda F. Booth, LPC, Certified Dragon’s Way Instructor at Hilda Qi Gong, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health.
Ms. Booth is a provider of the Dragon’s Way school of Qi Gong at her own business after recently retiring from Palmetto Hospital as a clinical intake coordinator for the psychiatry department in the emergency room. She served in the role for 22 years, and prior to the position she worked with the U.S. Navy for two and a half years. The highlight of her career was receiving an Employee of the Year Award from the Coastal Empire Mental Health Center. Ms. Booth entered her profession because she was inspired by her husband, and trained in Qi Gong over many visits to China and an extended stay of one month.
Persistence has always been Ms. Booth’s key to success. She initially studied history and religion with the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and 20 years later she earned an MSci in clinical psychology from Valdosta State University. She was licensed as a professional counselor in 1988. In addition to her Employee of the Year Award, Ms. Booth’s services in the health field have been recognized by a 2013 Friends of Residents Award and a 2016 Service Award from Palmetto Health Alliance. After she retired, Ms. Booth turned her positive energies toward Qi Gong, and was certified as an instructor in 2002. She further specialized in the Dragon’s Way Certification in 2009, and continued to study the art through 2014 and 2015. In 2017, Ms. Booth is continuing advanced training in the discipline for women’s health.
Ms. Booth’s services are valued by clients as a way of managing stress and helping a weight loss regimen. Her practices in this regard are assisted by her history of health and psychiatric services, as well as a deep understanding of her local South Carolinians. While serving with the psychiatric team at Palmetto, she was a team leader in the evening shift, and coordinated behavioral programs while training residents. Ms. Booth now offers her services at the Lourie Center, where she provides more one-on-one attention practicing qi gong. She is a member of the Traditional Chinese Medicine World Foundation, and a former member of the American Counseling Association and the South Carolina Psychological Association. In her free time, Ms. Booth still enjoys travel, as well as gardening and swimming.
